Le Kino started at Université Laval with a simple idea: make movement accessible for the fun of it, not the performance. It began as a November challenge, Kinovember, which now brings together seven universities, and the Le Kino nonprofit now carries the movement.

- 2020The birth of Kinovember
A student challenge launched at Université Laval in the middle of COVID by Philippe Roy Moreau, then a kinesiology student (now a pharmacist), to move together through the greyest month of the year.
- 2022Growing on campus
Hundreds of students at Université Laval jump in. Local partners join the movement.
- 2025Expansion to UdeM and UQTR
Kinovember goes inter-university. Two new campuses join the adventure, alongside Université Laval, on board since 2020.
- 2026Le Kino nonprofit is founded
The Le Kino nonprofit is founded to give the movement structure and lead Kinovember's expansion. Sherbrooke, UQAM, UQAR and McGill join the movement.
